1. How many tubes do we need to weld for a complete procedure testing according to SS-EN ISO 15614-1?
Answer: Minimum number of tubes: Diameter 0-25mm. 5 tubes Diameter 26-40mm. 4 tubes (5 tubes for impact testing) Diameter 41-60mm. 3 tubes (4 tubes for impact testing) Diameter 60-90mm. 2 tubes (3 tubes for impact testing) Diameter 114mm. 1 tube (2 tubes for impact testing) Diameter 168- mm. 1 tube
2. How do we proceed in order to send a sample for evalutation of the presence of asbestos?
Answer: To evaluate the presence of asbestos a representative piece for sampling should be taken out, put in a sealed plastic bag, which should be put in a padded envelope. Also enclose an order with the name of the client and marking the location and specifications of the sampled area. Send the envelope to:
Safe Control Materialteknik AB Att. Catarina Wernlund Tillgängligheten 1 417 01 Gothenburg Sweden
The sample can also be delivered directly to Safe Control at the above address. If you have other questions, you are welcome to contact Catarina Wernlund.
3. What is the maximal width for samples?
Answer: The maximal width is 400 mm.
4. How long does a weld in a plate have to be for a complete procedure testing according to SS-EN ISO 15614-1?
Answer: Plate samples should have a 400-600 mm weld length for plates with a thickness up to 20 mm.
5. How long does the piece need to be for tensile, analysis and impact testing of a round bar?
Answer: For diameters of less than 35 mm, we need 300 mm. For diameters of 35-100 mm, we need 200 mm. For diameters of more than 100 mm, we need 150 mm.
6. How long does the piece need to be for only the tensile test of a round bar?
Answer: For diameters of up to 25 mm, we need 250 mm. For others, we need 150 mm.
7. How long does the piece need to be for tensile, analysis and impact testing of a tube material?
Answer: Thinner tubes, up to 20 mm thick should be delivered in 300 mm pieces. Thicker tubes and large diameter pipes, with over 20 mm thickness should be delivered in 150 mm pieces, with a width over 100 mm. If transverse tests shall be cut out we need a greater width of approx. 150 mm.
